Bio

Kristine Sandøy (b. 1982) is from Vigra, lives and works in Oslo and educated at the Oslo Academy of the Arts (KHiO)

Sandøy works in a modernist tradition with mobile forms where the resilience of metal, balance and gravity are used to create movement in sculpture. Her sculpture projects are about creating justice, about the joy of life, fascination with gravity, and about the magic of creative power. Art in public space is a big part of her artistic practice.

Sandøy arbeidar i ein modernistisk tradisjon med mobile former der spensten i metall, balanse og gravitasjon blir brukt for å skape bevegelse i skulptur. Skulpturprosjekta handlar om å skape rettferd, om livsglede, fasinasjon for gravitasjon, og om magien i skaperkraft. Kunst i offentlige rom er ein stor del av den kunstnariske praksisen til Sandøy.
